24 week ultrasound

When we got back from Hawaii it was time for our 24 week growth scan. Since everything looked good at our last ultrasound we were able to do this entire appointment with our regular OB instead of the specialist, which was very exciting to us! I also had to do my glucose tolerance test to check for gestational diabetes, which was not very fun, but the results came back normal, which made it worth it.

The ultrasound went really well! He is growing like crazy, and was actually measuring bigger than gestational age...go peanut!! His current weight is 1 pound 13 ounces, although as Tyler likes to point out, I have gained a bit more weight than that ;-). I had a feeling he had grown quite a bit, because other than the obvious growth in my belly, he has gotten quite a bit stronger! He is now able to make my entire stomach jump when he kicks. Tyler had the pleasure of experiencing a swift kick to the head this week when he tried to lay his head on my belly and listen to him...our little soccer player is already practicing!

Here are a few pictures of our little man. We were able to catch him sucking his thumb and yawning, it was so cute (not that I would expect anything less)!

We have a thumb sucker!
Adorable little yawn

We are pretty sure he has my nose!

Another exciting step we made this month was deciding on a name! We have been waiting to share our choice until we had completely agreed, which was a lot harder than we thought it would be! The name we have chosen is, drum roll please.... Landen James. While the middle name was an easy choice, James is Tyler's middle name, Tyler's grandfather's name, my dad's name, and my grandfather's name, we had a lot harder time with the first name. Now of course, my worry is that when he arrives he won't look like a Landen, but Tyler isn't as worried as I am. Big surprise there, right? I guess we will just have to wait and see!
